Telling the Grandparents

This picture was taken from my phone the night we told the Overman's our big news. We were having a dinner together after work/golf a few weeks ago so I stopped at the grocery store and had the baker write a special message on a cake for Lori and Brian. Our original plan was to wait until my parents were in town and to tell them all in person, but as I stated in our last post we are both horrible at keeping secrets and had to tell them all much sooner! Happy Palm Sunday everyone!

Big month

So...we were going to keep it a secret for a little while longer, but Jeff and I are horrible with keeping secrets so SURPRISE! We have a bun in the oven :) We are 7 weeks 3 days today and are due on November 9th. I know a lot of people like to wait until it is a little more 'safe' before spreading the news, but Jeff and I figure the more family we tell the more family we have to pray for our little bean! We got a congratulations card from my Aunt Maryalyn, my Grandmas sister, and this part made me chuckle... "Sounds like your bedroom is lovely and apparently you have been spending a lot of time there, Norma [Grandma] told me the baby news!" No one has seemed too surprised though since Jeff and I weren't too quiet with our plans to wait and see what happens. So far my early pregnancy hasn't been bad, although I must say it is nearly impossible to stay awake at work and this pesky upset stomach feeling hasn't seemed to leave me since about the end of last week. But I know you mommies out there have experienced it all before, so I will try to keep my complaints to a minimum! I have to remind Jeff though that this courtesy does not apply to him and that he has to listen to every single one of my complaints because that is his job as daddy-to-be. So far he has been very supportive of me allowing him to watch Star Wars in bed every night because I fall asleep 5 minutes in every time, but he still needs a little work on his foot and back massage giving. We are both very excited for our special gift and hope everything goes well. So everyone think good thoughts for us!

Last snow storm of the year (do you hear me mother nature!)

I am posting nice sunny pictures from our walk on Saturday. Currently we are having a blizzard so I am thinking warm thoughts for my morning commute to work. Tonight we got to have a nice dinner with Russ because he was in town for business. Hopefully he will be able to make his morning flight Kara, you think warm thoughts too!
