Silverthorne Ice Castles

On Friday morning Johanna and I picked my Mom up from the airport then headed back home to hang out until Jeff got home from work. Jeff gets to work half days on Fridays so it worked out perfectly that he came home early that day. The weather was perfect so we decided to beat the weekend ski traffic and head to Silverthorne to check out the handmade ice castles. They were beautiful!

We wanted to see the sculptures lit up at night so to kill time we headed over to the nearby town of Breckenridge. It was pretty cold up in the mountains but we stayed warm with some fresh coffee and cookies. After dinner we headed back to the ice castles one last time. I think they were even more impressive at night!

Baby Sprinkle Part II

So I tried to be firm and let everyone know they did not need to get us anything, but of course no one listened to us and baby JJ ended up with gifts galore. Thank you so much for your love and thoughtfulness everyone we are so thankful for you all!

I had so much fun opening up all the little boy gifts... who says boy stuff isn't fun?!

Big Sister Johanna ran into the room when she found out we were opening presents. She was a great helper for Mommy and loved opening baby Brothers stuff.

Anything else in this big giant box?

For party games they had everyone split up into groups to design a onesie for baby JJ. Jeff and I had to decide between four shirts which top two we likes the best. It was very hard since they were all so cute!

So not the greatest photo to display, but I realized after the party was over that I did not get one belly shot! Or photos of me with any of my guests for that matter... I was too caught up in all the excitment!

We got to meet baby Joey for the first time and he sure is a cutie-pie!

Our friends Niki and Doug came down all the way from outside of Fort Collins, we were so happy to see them and their beautiful new addition their precious little Adley.

So cute!! (I picked this one as #1 because it is perfect for little JJ, his Aunt Kara knows him well!) Jeff's pick for our #2 has the Denver Bronco's logo on the front... also perfect for our little bean!

Love this one too! What a great idea, I am going to love seeing Johnathan in his homemade onesies. By the way this is the only picture I had of my Mom from the shower (did I mention how I was having way too much fun to snap any photos?!) It was so nice having her here for the weekend and at the shower, it made it so much more special having her there!

Our guests were so kind to bring packages of diapers for a diaper raffle. I had to draw the ticket and the winner got four club level seats to the Rockies game. I felt a lot of pressure to pick the number! We were so blessed (I really can't say that enough!!!) and ended up with so many diapers, we will be set for months! Thank you thank you thank you everyone!

At the end of the day we loaded up the cars and headed home. Later that evening Johanna had a lot of fun going through all the gifts with her Daddy. She is going to love helping her baby brother.

Thanks again to everyone we love you all and it means so much to know how much you love little JJ as well. We can't wait for everyone to meet him!

Baby Sprinkle Part I

I was so lucky to have my friends throw me a Baby Sprinkle for little baby Johnathan. A baby sprinkle is supposed to be a smaller version of a normal shower thrown for children after your first. My friends Krystal and Sara really outdid themselves though and with so many friends and family there it was certainly much  bigger than I had expected! I am so blessed and got the best of both worlds since I was able to have a perfect shower for my little Johanna two years ago in Ohio full of pink things galore and all things girly and this time around a baseball themed baby boy party for baby JJ in Colorado. We are truly blessed with such great family and friends! I want to remember everything about the day so here comes another picture overload...

The menu was perfect for a pregnant lady; nachos, popcorn, corn dogs, sliders, slushies...it doesn't get better than that!

Not to mention my favorite... cookie dough ice cream cake!

Krystal made this diaper cake herself, it was so cute not to mention packed full of diapers that we will gladly be using.

Sara made this adorable picture collage complete with pictures of baby JJ, I love it!

The guests were given goodie bags of cracker jacks and baseballs, they were so cute.

 What a perfect day I am so thankful!

Bonnie Brae's

One thing Highlands Ranch is missing (and most of Colorado as well!) are good old fashioned ice cream parlors. I have been an ice cream junkie...in moderation... this pregnancy but Dairy Queen and Coldstone just aren't cutting it. I've passed this parlor several times in the last few years but have never made a stop in. With my Mom in town we figured it was the perfect opportunity to go check it out! 

 They've been around for over 25 years and make all of their flavors homemade. I had to try the triple death chocolate....heavenly! The best part is they have good old fashioned ice cream malts and sodas, yum. Johanna thoroughly enjoyed her vanilla ice cream 'itty bitty' cone. The past few days she's been battling a cold and hasn't had much of an appetite. She didn't have any problems plowing that little cone down!

Crafts, Jewelry and Baby Bean

Today we had the boys over (Tyler, Nathan and Drew) along with their Mommies (Kara and Erin) for a playdate and crafts. It had snowed that morning so they battled the weather to meet up, but I'm so glad they made it because we had a great time! No playdate is complete without pulling out the paint set and pinterest. We decided to paint hand print shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day. Here is Nathan posing as Lady Gaga with his blue lips!

So we've decided a lot of these hand print crafts will work out a lot better when their little hands grow, right now everything ends up pretty stubby. But here is Johanna's hand print shamrock and leprechaun. Luck of the Irish to ya!  

 Last weekend my friend hosted a Stella and Dot trunk show party. I've never seen their collection so I was pleasantly surprised to find they had children's jewelry. I just had to get this little bracelet for Johanna...

 ...because it matches my wedding jewelry perfectly! Now we have matching bracelets :)

In JJ news today I had my weekly appointment and everything is good...blood pressure normal!  This afternoon I had a non-stress test. Even though I didn't have to have the bio-physical ultrasound they wanted to follow up with this since my placenta had shown a little maturation. (Apparently this is a normal thing while nearing the end of your pregnancy, but combined with high bp they wanted to watch it.)  I had to sit in a comfy chair with some monitors strapped to my tummy to measure JJ's movement and heart rate. Every time he moved I had to push a little button. After 20 minutes or so they came to check on me and said everything looked great. Now I have to do this every week until JJ decides to make his appearance. What a pain! But I won't complain, I get a half hour to take a little nap and listen to baby bean's heartbeat :)
