Muffins x 3

Week two of muffins! This time Jeff and I split 3... next week we're going to share 6. Just kidding! Blueberry cheesecake, carrot cake, and double berry explosion. Yum!

Baby is looking great, still head down and kicking away like crazy. I think she has been working on her breathing because she has been getting the hiccups at least 2 or 3 times a day. I can't decide what I think is crazier, the feeling of her having hiccups or watching her limbs move across my tummy. Doctor says his best guess from feeling her is that she weighs somewhere around 5 lbs.

I've definitely developed some interesting pregnancy habits
1. snoring so loudly I wake myself up
2. drooling excessively
3. resting my hands on top of my stomach while talking to people, which reminds me of something Santa Clause would do
4. talking to myself out loud (we can chalk this up to I'm really talking to her...)
5. running into anything and everything, I have bruises all over my body!

Oh boy! Who said pregnant people were cute?

Nursery Update

Jeff and I have been busy working on the nursery. It is really starting to come together...I wasn't kidding when we said we couldn't get enough purple and pink!I especially love the butterfly mobile hanging above the glider. When we turn the ceiling fan on all the butterflies flutter around, I can just imagine baby looking up at them.Our princess castle decal turned out great, and that was even after a few failures of sticking it on evenly.Thanks cousin Staci for the awesome picture, if you can't see it says "One shoe can change your life." Perfect! Thanks to my boss's daughters for the Disney Princess picture frame, and to Gramma Laura, Aunt Melissa, and Cousin Kaitlyn for the books! Baby also got her first two cd's, thanks Aunt Cheryl and Cousins Carly and Adrienne!Aunt Elaine found these fantastic wall decorations for baby. The top one we will be adding her name, and the bottom one will be the hand and footprint. Jeff was confused and thought somehow I had already gotten a copy of this, I had to remind him that the baby was still inside of me, silly boys.We love the picture frame from Aunt Melissa, and the princess lamp from Aunt Lindsey is too cute!

Thanks to everyone for adding their love to our baby's bedroom, we love it all so much. When I look around at everything I think of you all. We love you!

Funny Story

We have a 101 (102 in November) year old resident living at our facility. Every day she tells me in detail how later that evening she will be going home to take care of her Mom and Dad that aren't feeling well. She explains how she will drive her car that is parked in the driveway down the street to her home and feed her babies. Her parents have been gone for decades, she hasn't had a car or license in years, and her children are long grown.

Yesterday I overheard her and several other ladies talking about the size of my tummy and when they thought I was due. A typical hot topic of discussion. I hear her chime up above all the other ladies, "No, she is 32 weeks pregnant."

What! How does she remember this? The brain never ceases to amaze me. Or she has a really good eye for fetal growth. Have a great day everyone!

Chocolate muffins

Jeff and I went for a walk this morning to a little bakery down the street named My Favorite Muffin. I got this amazing creation, the double chocolate muffin. Basically, it was chocolate cake disguised as a breakfast food... and it was awesome! I figured our 4 mile walk there and back made up for the extra calories. They had about 20 other equally appetizing options so my plan is for the next 7 Sundays until baby gets here I am going to walk there and get a different muffin. Or at least next Sunday :)
In other news, there isn't too much to report. We will be 33 weeks this week, baby has been doing great and my tummy continues to grow. If anyone is thinking of getting a belly button piercing I would suggest no, it keeps stretching and is so itchy I can't stand it. At our 31 week appointment our Dr. felt the babies head, she is head down and hanging out. I think she is still in that position because I have been getting a lot of kicks to the rib which I can only imagine to be coming from her feet. Other than the occasional rib jab and the out of breath-ness, this pregnancy has been a breeze! We toured two hospitals over the last two weeks and have decided to go with the hospital closest to our home. We are pre-registered and now just have to wait until she is done cooking! In our Bradley class our teacher commented that most situations a baby will not be fully ready for delivery until 7 days after your Dr's estimated due date...which would put us at 11/16/10. I am still pretty sure she will come on my birthday, 11/15... we will see!

Put-in-Bay

This will be my last Ohio posting... :( Which means I will just need to be planning another trip soon! On Sunday we went to Put-in-Bay, Ohio an island about 45 minutes away from where my family lives. In order to reach the island we had to take the Miller Ferry over.This is the one thing that Colorado is lacking, we have no water anywhere! I love visiting the great lakes and mini lakes sprawled throughout the Midwest. Jeff got to see some of Lake Erie on our ride over to the island, he even saw a roller coaster off in the distance from the amusement park, Cedar Point.I love Put-in-bay, it feels like you are on a beach down south with all the different yachts that show up for the day. We even got to have some really yummy lobster bisque and sit on the boardwalk in the sun.Whenever we go to the island we have to look for my Grandpa's plaque commemorating his achievements as commodore. (Correct me if I am wrong Mom!)Here he is! My Grandpa Gary :) There were various cannons and war memorabilia spread around the island that Max thought were pretty cool.One of my favorite parts of Put-in-Bay is their winery...they make really yummy wine from their fresh Catawba grapes that they grow along the island. I could only have a sip this time, but I was able to get some fresh grape juice that was equally yummy!Our week went by really quickly but it was so much fun spending time with everyone. We couldn't believe how much Max had grown in the last 8 months since seeing him last.But in a few more weeks we'll be seeing everyone again and meeting the newest addition to the family!

Friday Night Lights (Saturday Night)

On Saturday night we got to go out to my High School Alumni's football game. My brother Zach is in their drum line so I was excited to watch him perform. Football season is always my favorite time of the year so it was great being in town for a game. Here I am lifting Max, which I probably shouldn't be doing because he weighs a ton!When he got to the game all that he wanted to do was go join the big boys on the field... I think my sister has a future linebacker on her hands!It was so hilarious watching him watch the game! How is it that boys become boys so early on?Zach plays the quads in the marching band, they are the big 4 section drums that they carry on their shoulders.Can you find him? He is the one on the 46 yard line... Good job Zach!

Baby Shower

On Saturday my Mom and Sister hosted a baby shower for our little Overman. It turned out to be a beautiful day, not too hot and not too cold which was perfect because I always get really hot when the attention is on me.Everything was pink in honor of our little girl, even the flowers. You would think I'd be getting sick of pink by now, but I love it. If this baby turns out to be a boy, he is going to love pink too forget gender roles!These cards were placed on each table and I thought it was just the cutest little poem.My sister ordered these amazing cookies from the Cookie Lady in Indiana. They had raspberry frosting and were delicious... I had about 5 of them. Now I want one right now, I wonder if they deliver to Colorado...My Dad made 6 different varieties of quiches for the party and they were amazing! Everyone had to come back for seconds, and Jeff and I had to take the recipe from him to bring back home with us. Thanks Dad!Jeff was able to go golfing in the morning, but after his game finished he joined us for the remainder of the shower. He was there for the best part, the gift opening! It was a big learning experience for Jeff, he found out what receiving blankets were as well as bibs. A friend of the family had made us a homemade bib, but when Jeff opened it he told everyone it was a towel shirt. I don't think I'll leave him in charge of dressing her for a little while, who knows what he'll put on her!!It was such a great party and I had a great time catching up with friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. Here is my friend Erin with her son Mason who was born just three weeks ago, he was so tiny I can't believe we will have one of our own soon.We had Melissa take a few shots of the three of us. It was hard not to laugh, but I thought they came out pretty cute!

Michigan

My Grandma has a cottage in Manitou Beach, Michigan on Round Lake where I spent all of my past Summer's. I hadn't been up in a few years so I was excited to spend some time there and show Jeff around. I wasn't able to go water skiing or tubing, but we did go out in the paddle boat! Later on in the day we went for a slow ride on the boat, then the boys went for a fast ride, I didn't think baby would enjoy all the bumps!Even though it was a little rainy the first day we were there we had a lot of fun going for walks and bbqing what else but hot dogs!!! (and hamburgers for those that aren't as addicted as I am.)

Ohio/Indiana/Michigan Trip

This past week Jeff and I got to go to Ohio to visit with my family. We were able to make it to three different states in six days! We had so much fun, the week went by way too quickly. I'll have to post different days according to which state we were in.We traveled to Fort Wayne, Indiana to visit my Sister and Brother-in-law's new house that was built over the summer. It is much bigger to accommodate their growing family and had a bunch of space to run around in. There was a little pond that has an island in the center where dogs can run around freely. Here is Max telling Jeff to quit fooling around and to get over to our island!Max thought I should get to know all of his stuffed animal friends so he introduced me to all of them. Look at Uncle Jeff coloring, he is such a good teacher.Apparently he serves as a toilet as well....better get used to it Daddy to be haha. *Jeff wants me to add that he did not pee his pants, but Max peed on him.

We had such a great time visiting the new house, we can't wait to bring our little peanut with us next time!
