15 Months

Posing for a picture saying 'Cheeeeeeese' making her Sloth face

Our little peanut is 15 months old. In just under two more months she will be taking on the big sister roll, I can't believe it. Her personality is really starting to come out and boy have we got a ham on our hands! She is constantly doing silly things, then always looks around to see if she's gotten a reaction from someone. Her favorite things to do now are:

Spinning- she twirls around in circles saying 'spinnn, spinnn, spinnn' until she gets dizzy

Movies- this girl loves watching movies, her favorite being Tangled. Now I don't let her sit around watching t.v. all day long, but if I know we'll be in the car for awhile or if I'm needing a break at home I let her watch a little bit of her shows. The other day I went to get her from her nap. I went into the room and there she was standing up with a big smile on her face. The first thing she said when she saw me was "Moooovie!!!" and I had to tell her No Johanna, no movies right now, followed by Johanna letting out a desperate 'noooooooo!!' followed by tears. Oh boy!

Remote Controls- she knows how to turn on the t.v. with the remote control. This is no easy task either  since our tv requires two remotes one to turn on, and the other to change channels. This little stinker has figured out not only how to turn on the television but also how to skip through the channels to find her beloved movies.

Sneaking- I don't really know how to explain it, but Johanna likes to crouch down low and walk around like she's being really sneaky. You can tell by the look on her face that she thinks she is being hilarious, which I have to admit it is pretty funny watching her creep around like this.

Manners- I have been trying to teach her manners starting with please and thank you. Now whenever she wants something (again, most usually wanting to watch a movie) she says with her little squeaky voice as drawn out as possible 'pleeeeeeeeaaaase!!!!!' she's on to something because who could say no to that?

Affection- says love you and will randomly come up to me or Jeff and give us a big kiss on our face, she also loves giving my belly kisses. When I go to get her from her nap as soon as I pick her up from her crib she wraps her arms around me and starts patting me on the back, like I always do to her. It warms my heart! One last thing...before she goes to bed and after she gives her goodnight kiss she always squeezes me really tight saying 'squeeeeeeeze!' <3

Babies- she is still in love with her animals and babies. I caught her picking them up and placing them in her baby doll crib saying 'night night!' gave them a kiss and  rocked them back and forth trying to sing rockabye baby. What a sweet girl she is!

Moon- if we are out at night she points to the sky pointing out the 'staws' and 'mooooon' when I remember I always try to let her look up into the night sky before bed to say goodnight moon, just like in one of her favorite books.

Well, that's all that I can think of for now but every day it seems like she is saying or doing something else that either surprises me or makes me laugh. Kids are so much fun! Happy 15 months Johanna, we love you so much xxoo

Baby Bean Update

We did all of our chores on Friday and Saturday to make sure we had all day on Sunday to watch football. Brian helped Jeff haul a bunch of stuff to his house to store in their basement until we move into a bigger home. Thanks guys! I cleaned out the closet and Jeff painted an accent wall in the nursery a beautiful soft blue named "Morning Breeze." I love it and it really brightens up the room!

 Baseball sheets :)
We also took a trip to IKEA this weekend and purchased a nightstand and dresser with gift cards we had from our wedding way back when... we knew we were saving them for something good!

Baby Bean had an appointment today, everything is still looking great. He is measuring right on schedule, still head down and his HR was 140bpm. Johanna came along with me to this appointment and was fussy at first, she gets so scared for her Momma! My Doctor let her sit next to me and squeeze the gel on to my tummy. That calmed her down right away. She also thought it was really cool listening to JJ's heartbeat. 61 days to go :)

Iphone Stuff

I don't always have my camera on me but luckily I always seem to have my phone nearby. It is much smaller and more convenient the only problem is I always forget to transfer them to my computer and end up with thousands of pictures and videos on my phone... I am also always forgetting to update my phone... me and technology aren't always the greatest together. Here are a few videos and pics from the last few weeks.
Johanna playing with her motorized car she got for her birthday from her friend Klaire.

Different body parts.
Johanna's first time bowling with Daddy.
Johanna's first time bowling on her own!
Goofing off with Daddy after work.
So this may look gross, but we were nearing the end of the peanut butter jar. Most days Johanna refuses to eat anything unless she is the one scooping it up.
Our very own Bronco's cheerleader on play off game #2. For those of you that missed the game, we lost horribly.
Johanna loves berries (raspberries in particular) but hates strawberries. I asked her if she wanted berries one morning for breakfast and she eagerly shouted yes! This is the expression I got after I handed her a plate of strawberries.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Making Progress

Johanna was just finishing her dinner when Jeff decided to make a dent in JJ's room and put his crib together. She heard all the commotion from upstairs and just had to see for herself what was going on.
Blackberry booger face and all she was so excited to open up the big mysterious box that had been sitting in the guest room for over a month now.

Wow! It's a crib for baby brother!

Want to hear something gross? We got a bonus gift with our purchase... this nasty bird feather was included in the box of screws and parts... I was terrified we'd find the rest of the bird somewhere else in the box. Thank God we didn't, and I'll try not to think about how the feather got in there to begin with.
Thanks for putting together Johnathan's crib babe, I love you! I think he may have beaten is PR... he's getting pretty good at putting this kiddie stuff together. We still have a lot to do before the room is ready; cleaning and organizing the closet, moving current furniture out, painting the room, adding dresser and nightstand, and last but not least (my favorite part) -decorating.
I have a feeling I will sleep really well tonight knowing that we've knocked one thing off our to do list. We're making progress now!

Denver Stock Show

The Denver Stock Show is in town! After grabbing some breakfast burritos (my pregnancy addiction I must add...) we rounded up Johanna and headed over to the Denver Colosseum. This year we decided not to attend the rodeo while Johanna is so young but spent our time walking around the grounds instead. We saw some cows, some more cows, oh and a ton more cows! I think I saw more cows than I've had hamburgers in my entire life. Yehaw!

Baby Bean Update

So today we are 29 weeks and 3 days...no big news to report today other than JJ has officially flipped! Well...I shouldn't say officially because he still has room and time for some more water aerobics. And it's not a perfect science this early on, but from where my Dr. felt his head and the position of his heart valves (hr 145bpm) he is fairly certain the little bean is nice and comfy facing downward. I've passed my glucose tolerance testing and am now on an additional iron supplement. I am hoping the iron will give me a much needed boost in energy although I'm sure from this point on that's a lost cause ;) Just think, if little JJ decides to be like Johanna he may be here in a little over 8 weeks... But for now lets count on a good solid 10. Happy cookin' little bean!

Sick Day

Originally we had plans to go to the museum with some friends today. After a night full of cuddling, movies, snugging more movies and more cuddling I knew it was going to be a sick day today instead. Thank goodness for warm showers, cold drinking water, oranges and plenty of children's tylenol!
We kept busy with some arts and crafts, Johanna had a blast making some pictures for her brother JJ.

Remember the commercials for "My Buddy" and "Kid Sister?" Johanna wouldn't put the sponge down after arts and crafts, I couldn't get the song out of my head. Hopefully everyone else is staying healthy!

Santa was here!

For Christmas Jeff took me to La-Z-Boy to pick out some furniture for our front room. I had a lot of fun picking out the style and material and have been anxiously waiting for its delivery to see how it turned out. Lori came over today while Johanna and I were at Moms and Tots to let the delivery men in so when we came home it was already all set up. I didn't even think about whether Johanna would notice the new furniture or not. Turns out as she rounded the corner into the room the first thing she did was exclaim in awe "Wowwwwwww!!!" She had the widest eyes and ran over to the love seat to test it out.
The pictures are a little blurry due to Johanna moving around like a little jack rabbit. Who knew this little girl would be so excited about new furniture?!
I had to take a picture of these cute little pants I found at Once Upon a Child...heehee...
Thanks Daddy, we love our new furniture!
