Cannonbaaaaall!!!

Anyone else love the movie The Sandlot as much as I do? The title of this entry is from the scene where Ham (the little porky kid) jumps into the pool and splashes all the ladies sunbathing. Every time I go to a pool I think of this movie, such a classic. Today we enjoyed the amazing weather and headed over to the pool. Her eyes look a little poofy to me in this picture, I think it's from her cold that's been sticking around. I figured some fresh air would be great for it. Don't you love her little suit? I had to get my post-pregnant body a one piece so naturally I had to get a similar one for her, hehe.
Johanna was afraid to put her toes into the water at first, but as soon as she got in she remembered how much fun it was.
I think we may have a little fish on our hands!
We would spin her around in circles or 'tornados' as I remember calling them. She would get so excited she would gasp for air.
She also loved kicking and splashing in the water just like at bath time. She was being such a silly girl, blowing raspberries and shrieking with excitement.
This girl loves the water!
Johanna with her Godmother (Kristi) and Goduncle (Steven)
Whenever Steven would hold her Johanna went into serious mode. At least she's got a hold of his finger, she must not be that afraid of him :)
Once again this girl will not keep sunglasses on her face, she would much rather chew on them instead.
Here! I finally got a picture with her wearing them while lounging by the pool.
What a great day! I love the pool. I made sure the lather on the sunscreen for the baby but neglected myself so guess who now has a horrible sunburn on her back and arms? Maybe I will get lucky and it will turn into a tan.
Happy Memorial Day everyone!

7 months

So our little peanut is 7 months today. Over half a year old! Here are some fun facts about Miss Hannie:
1. She prefers sleeping on her tummy, butt high in the air
2. She is fascinated by body parts attached to peoples heads; eyes, ears, nose and mouth being her favorites
 3. She loves drinking water from her sippy cup and big girl cup
4. Her favorite songs are head, shoulders, knees and toes and itsy bitsy spider
 5. Loves my cell phone (correction, she believes my cell phone is her cell phone) and enjoys talking to Daddy on speakerphone. She does not like when I take the phone away from her after she puts Daddy on hold/silent or texts/calls people with out me knowing. In fact she is becoming very vocal about things that upset her. This child may have a little bit of a temper...
 6. Apparently when she has a cold she prefers nursing over solid food. Tonight for example she thought it was much more fun to play with her food than eat it. Good thing it was a bath night!
7. Thinks the word 'No' is funny
8. Her favorite fruit is mango her favorite vegetable is butternut squash
9. Her favorite animal noises are neigh and bzzzzzzzzz
10. Says mamamama and dadadada but doesn't know it means us
11. Likes standing up on her legs, loves sitting up on her own, won't stand to be on her back for more than 5 seconds
12. Loves sitting in her floppy seat while cruising stores for fun with Mom
13. Thinks its funny when Dad throws her in the air and tips her upside down
14. Prefers our cats over Fiona, but still thinks Fiona is cool too
15. Likes taking her nap around 10 am and 3 pm for about 1 1/2-2 hours each and likes to go to bed around 8 and wake up around 7. Sometimes she likes to wake up at 5 or 6 to come snuggle with Mom
16. Thinks there is nothing worse than getting her nose wiped
17. No longer takes her medicine gracefully but instead throws a fit every night when I try to give it to her by turning her head away and grabbing at the syringe
18. Loves to snuggle before bedtime

10 for 10

Johanna and I went to our favorite store, Once Upon a Child to get a few gently used toys to play with. While we were there I noticed they were having a '10 for 10' sale on their books. I love books and I especially love them when they are only a buck a piece!  See the red book in the bottom left corner? Four stories of Amelia Bedelia, another one of my childhood favorites- score!
I really enjoy reading stories to Johanna. It is part of her bedtime routine to read 2 stories, say prayers, nurse, then go to sleep. Now that she is getting older she is starting to want more control over how quickly I turn the pages and how long we spend on each book. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to finish any story with the exception of one book: her baby animals picture book from her cousin Max. She loves this one but I have my suspicions it is mainly due to the fact this book also includes Mom making weird animal noises with each picture.
I would like to believe that Johanna loves the plot and illustrations of each story but who am I kidding...she just wants to get her little greasy hands on the pages so she can crunch them all up.
Oh well! Best ten bucks I've ever spent...and maybe one day she will actually appreciate the story part  :)
Johanna is quickly approaching 7 months old (in 2 days!) I am not sure when the 'correct' age is to try out the finger food puffs, but I've noticed her eyeballing her peers while they munch on them.
They container says if they can sit up on their own (yes) can pick up small objects between fingers (yes) can eat a thicker consistency of baby food (yes) and are crawling...okay this is a no but 3 out of 4 ain't bad! They dissolve so quickly I figured there wasn't any harm in trying. She had a fun time playing with them with her little fingers. It was dissolving in her hands before she even got it up to her mouth! All in all I think it was a success.
About 2 months ago Johanna discovered that it was a lot of fun drinking out of a big person cup. She would watch me intently as I filled up my glass from the fridge then observe as I drank water from it. Gradually she started reaching for my glass. Now I can't get myself a glass of water with out her wanting a sip.
She gets so excited when she sees me filling up my glass with water. She gets a huge grin, sticks out her tongue and reaches for my glass.
When I put the glass up to her mouth she makes little gulping noises until the water touches her lips.
It is so adorable! She just loves her water so much.

Adrenaline Junkie

Today we beat the bad weather and headed to the zoo early in the morning. Our family membership included a free ride on the carousel so we had take Johanna for a ride. I stood this one out in order to take some pictures and boy was it worth it, I was cracking up the entire time. The expression on her face was priceless! Here are a few of the hilarious photos of my little peanut.
Holding on to the zebra while it went up and down and around and round.
 She looks so tiny!
 hehehe...
She held her hand out in the air, she must have liked the way the cool air felt against her fingers.
Toward the end she just looked a little bored with the whole thing.
After the thrilling ride on the carousel we had to take a ride on the train. Again, Johanna looks skeptical.
But once the train started choo-chooing she brightened right up.
The ride took us around the zoo while the conductor pointed out different areas of interest.
Why do all my favorite photos come out blurry! Look at how much she loves her Daddy :)
Here we are checking out the flamingos.
While in the rainforest's exhibit the birds were able to fly around as they pleased. Johanna couldn't stop staring at the different birds flying overhead.
I love the zoo!

BBQ season

This Saturday we had a BBQ and Pampered Chef party at our house. Johanna was extra snuggly when she saw her Grandma, its a little blurry but I love this photo!
We had a house full of babies so I asked Jeff to get a few baby toys out for them to play with. He dumped all of them out on to the ground. There were so many toys to play with the kids were overwhelmed with options!
My friend Tracy from my Mops group was our Pampered Chef consultant for the party. I volunteered to host her first show and she did great! Her husband and son came along to cheer her on. Noah was sneaky and grabbed hold of Georgie...even though he hasn't used a pacifier in months he had to try him out.
Landon was also partying it up with the babies he is 9 months old and is such a happy boy! Johanna is raisin' the roof in this picture. Doesn't she look very Hannah Montana-ish like she's holding a microphone and dancing away? hehe..
Tyler snuck into the jumparoo when no one was looking, he thought he was pretty clever, I couldn't resist a photo!
Jeff set up the fountain in our backyard while the weather was nice. Fiona thought it was a cool new water bowl for her. Every time she went outside she had to get a drink from her high class drinking fountain.
As you could see from the earlier picture Johanna has been practicing reaching up high. She loves lifting her arms and stretching them high into the air.
Checking out her tambourine.
Get this girl in a band!
one...
two...
three... now she's comfy!
What could Johanna be looking at?
Look what I found Mom...
A cat! Johanna loves our cats, whenever she sees them she starts growling and laughing.
Weeee! We had a great time hanging out with everyone this weekend. Nothing is better than great weather, friends and a bbq!
