10 weeks down, 30 to go!

We had our 10 week checkup with our Doctor the other day and the appointment went great. I am even slowly starting to gain back some energy and am feeling increasingly less nauseous...go me!

I was mostly excited to get some answers from the Doc about whether I can get a pedicure (yes!) whether I am able to fly in a plane (yes!) and surprisingly whether I can drive to Arizona 4 weeks before my due date for a wedding that I am in...(Yes...as long as I am not contracting and am feeling up to it!) One thing I did learn that I had never thought about was that pregnant women are not supposed to go any higher than 8,000 ft in elevation. Oooops... Luckily, our trip to the top of Pikes Peak didn't pan out I would have felt horrible being up past 14,000. I am still able to go hiking, but we will just have to make sure we keep our hikes closer to home.

The doctor was able to find our little prune's heartbeat with his Doppler. At first all he was picking up were the sounds of my pulse and the blood flow, pretty cool to hear but not what we were looking for. But it didn't take long before he found it. Jeff was going to use his phone to record it, but we were both too caught up in the excitement that we forgot. Maybe next time!

  1. Holy cow you're excitable! I am loving your enthusiasm... not feeling so much with the 2nd pregnancy. I am more excited about the baby this time, but pregnancy is getting on my nerves. :) Congratulations again and again. I hope you well!!!

  2. Yes... I am indeed very excitable. One thing I am extremely excited about is that I have something else to blog about other than my dog! :)

  4. What... the dog is awesome, although she will fade from the limelight now! I think our dog might think that his life has been ruined by the addition of Bitty. I really am enthused by your excitement, the first pregnancy is so crazy. Keep a journal if you're up to it! I didn't and there's so many things I wonder I remember accurately...

  5. Russ and I always meant to record the sound of the heartbeat also. It is the coolest sound and it's just so incredible! It never did happen, but best of luck to you :)
