Jeff and I got to go out Friday night for date night so we decided to go to The Fort, this restaurant themed after an old fur trading post. I had never been before but had heard great things about it.
This picture clearly shows how I was not meant to be an actor. This is my portrayal of being humiliated and angry.
The menu featured a lot of items that were food trends of the 1800's. Here is whiskey made with gun powder and tobasco. Jeff thought it was good, but said it had a very strong kick. I took a sniff and it almost knocked me out. I picked out
Peanut Butter Stuffed Jalapeños Escabeche which were pickled jalapeños with a mango whipped peanut butter filling. Jeff said this appetizer was created for pregnant women, I had to agree.
The best part of the night was by far our dinner...Buffalo, Elk and Quail. I had never had quail before and after eating this I asked Jeff if we would go to Nebraska this hunting season and bring me back a few. It was fantastic! (If you've never had quail before it was in my opinion a mix between chicken, turkey, and duck.)

sounds like a fun night out, date nights are so fun! :) I can't see the shirt though....
