Christmas time is here

There is a Christmas store close to where we lived called St. Nicks. On his way home from work one day, Jeff secretly went to the store to have personalized stockings made for each of us. When they were finished, he took us to the store to pick them up and look around. It turns out that Johanna LOVED looking at the lights! There were room after room full of Christmas trees and ornaments. She couldn't keep her eyes off of everything, it was so cute! Now I know where to take her if she is ever having a bad day.The stocking is bigger than her!First ornament from her Nana.
First ornament from her Daddy.Throughout the past year, my residents and their family's loved to keep track of my pregnancy. They would always ask me how I was feeling and how the pregnancy was going. I even worked up until the day I had her! (Which I have learned was a mistake I will not be repeating...hehe.) It was so much fun to finally be able to bring Johanna in to meet everyone. She was so spoiled with everyone that wanted to hold her. I figure the more people that can hold her the more socialized she will be, right? I am basing this idea on our dog...puppy school seemed to work well for her! Although... I would hope Johanna doesn't turn out to be as needy and smelly as her. This is Maxine. She will be turning 100 on December 30th. Her family is throwing her a party at a golf course that I can't wait to go to, I just love her! She would always make fun of me and my giant belly by telling me I was having twins. When she saw Johanna she started crying she was so happy. I will miss my job and my residents but I am still so happy to be staying at home with my little girl. I will make sure to take her up to visit though- nothing cheers the elderly like a child, and nothing is better for a child than learning love and respect for their elders.Johanna was wide eyed and awake for the entire party. She had so much fun meeting everyone there was no way she was going to fall asleep.

It has been so much fun celebrating these holidays with our little girl. Christmas is so much more fun with a little one. I know she has no idea what Christmas is, but I know it will get even better in the upcoming years!

  3. Too cute. THanks for the photo of the outfit we sent. How very nice of you to take Johanna to meet everyone. Isn't it great when your husband does those sort of things... sentimentality that I often don't think them capable of becomes regular when you have little girls. Merry Christmas to you all!!!

  4. Oh the old ladies are just too cute! My friend Alicia's mom used to work in a nursing home and we would go visit this little old lady named Olive and she always wore a red and white polka dotted dress and carried a baby doll around, she was sooo sweet! Love the GIANT stocking! That's perfect!
