A typical day as new Mommy

It has been a joy being able to stay at home with my little one, I am very appreciative of my husband for the hard work that he does each day in order for me to do this. I love you Jeff! I am used to going to work every morning and keeping busy until 4 or 5, so it has been quite the change staying home with Miss Johanna. Don't get me wrong, being a SAHM is a 24/7 job with no breaks, I figured this out quickly. It is, however an entirely different busy.Johanna likes to eat about every 2 to 3 hours. She has been getting better at night and has even gone 4 hours on occasion with out waking up. I don't mind waking up to feed her because I know it is the most important part of my job as Mommy. While waking up the third time in the middle of the night, it also helps knowing you don't have to be at an office a few hours later. Jeff wakes up around 4:30 in the morning to go to the gym, and Johanna and I usually wake up sometime shortly after for a feeding. We say goodbye to Daddy around 6:30 and start our day around 7:00. My day always starts off with a cup of coffee...minus the caffeine. When the weather is nice I try to fit in some type of activity outside. The weather has been nice enough that we've been able to go for walks. Johanna doesn't mind her car seat if we are going outside for a walk or jog. Once the snow comes in we are going to try going to the rec center where Lori works. That way she can see Johanna and I can fit in a work out. Here we are going for a jog for the first time in her stroller!Johanna has been sleeping in our room at night, but during the day I try to have her nap in her crib. My hope is that she will be comfortable enough with it so that when the time comes that we do put her in her nursery at night, it won't be as unfamiliar. I added this mirror the other day and discovered Johanna loves looking at her reflection. She is in awe over that other baby that always stares back at her!We also spend a lot of time on our activity mat. She loves tummy time. She loves to chew/drool all over it.And she gets her neck up so high! When we were sponge bathing Johanna she hated bath time. Now that she is able to sit in her baby bath, bath time has gotten so much more enjoyable. This picture was taken the first time she took a bath in her tub. As you can see by her facial expression, she wasn't quite sure what to think of it.But she figured out quickly how much fun it was to kick her legs in the warm water and wave her arms around.
Happy clean baby!

In between feedings, changings, play time and bath and while Johanna is napping I can get chores done. It doesn't seem like there is much time to do this though, so some of the chores I've had to figure out to do with Johanna in arm. You can put away dishes, do laundry, make your bed and vacuum all while holding a baby I've discovered.

I know things will get different as Johanna gets older, but for now that is what a typical day looks like for us. I am surprised at how quickly the time flies. Before I would stare at the clock at work and minutes would crawl by, but now I can't even keep track of the hour!
