Cosi...ooops... Imagination Station

In downtown Toledo there is a really fun place called the Imagination Station. When I was a little girl it was called COSI and I have a lot of really great memories there from school field trips to Girl Scout sleepovers. Do you see the child riding the bike on the tightrope? This was always the coolest thing to do there, you had to be very brave to take the challenge and you always felt so proud of yourself afterward. I wasn't sure if I was over the weight limit (no, 250lbs!) but since I was wearing a dress I still decided to pass this time.
It's just one giant interactive science exploration playhouse. Here is a giant step-keyboard like in the movie Big with Tom Hanks. Fun fact: Tom Hanks is my favorite actor.
Apparently 27lbs isn't enough to set it off.
They were having an exhibit at the time for farm equipment and such. So what do you know, they had a corn box!! Remember our discovery of one last year at the pumpkin patch?
Max loved it!
Doesn't she look so tiny.
Look what we ran into, these really strange and creepy cross breeds... they say they weren't dangerous but a little on the deranged side...
They had a bunch of the usual petting animals but my favorite was this ridiculously giant rabbit. Why would a rabbit ever need to be this big?! He's like the Fiona of rabbits, haha.
Just like the Zoo this place had an awesome children's section full of interactive play areas. They had a make-believe hospital, make-believe grocery store, make-believe construction sight and fire station just to name a few. Johanna and Max could spend all day there.
One of my favorites as a little girl were the optical illusion rooms. Here they are in the tiny house.
And here Max and Melissa are in the gravity room, it's built at a tilt so with the optical illusion and force of gravity vertigo really takes over! Imagination Station two thumbs up! Thanks for taking us Mom, we had a blast!
On our last day in town we stopped at Oma's for lunch. Here is JJ posing with Uncle Dave.
Oma had a doll that her and her Sister got their Mom so Johanna's Great-Great Grandma. It was one of the first cabbage patch doll every made and she said they waited forever to get it, went super early to wait at the store for it when it was released. I think her name was Dorene.
Of course she spent the entire day at Oma's taking care of little Dorene and making sure she was always swaddled up in her blanket.
Uncle Zack is also great with the boys!
JJ loves his Papa and Nana
Grandma stocked up on Johanna's favorite, avocados! Then later for lunch she made her some really yummy homemade mac-n-cheese. Nothing is better than food from your Grandma!
Thanks for having us over Oma, we love you! (Johanna is upset because Dorene was not with her in this picture.)

  2. I love that you are taking them to places you loved as a child. That museum is so cool! It reminds me of the Please Touch Museum in Pennsylvania. Why don't we have one as cool as those?
