Family Reunion 2012

 One of the reasons behind our trip to Ohio last month was for a DeHan (my Mother's side) family reunion. We had family from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Florida and Colorado come to Hocking Hills National Park in Ohio. Most of the family pitched a tent next to each other for the weekend but since my sister and I both had small children my Dad got a cabin for us to stay in. The cabin was a really nice house backed up to the park and the kids were so excited when they walked through the door.

 We each got to pick our own room- JJ chose this one.

 After Leo and Johanna had a blast jumping on this bed she didn't want to leave.

 The cabin had a hot tub and a foosball table so the boys were always entertained during downtime.

We sing the teddy bear song to Johanna which is a song about playing with your teddy bear by placing him on different body parts. The chorus is "put him on your head and walk around the room" and Jeff likes to put Johanna on his head during this part. Melissa and Leo got in on the action and the kids were cracking up so of course they had to do that routine about five times.  

 The cabin also included a large look out deck. The kids got to watch for deer and saw several during our stay.

 The first morning we were there some of the family met up for a hike; those with out kids took the harder trails and those with did an easier hike to Old Man's Cave.

 And we're off!

 Half way through the hike we came upon a waterfall with some wading water the kids had a lot of fun skipping rock while cooling off their toes.

For it being super hot and humid and being held the whole time JJ did pretty great for his first hike!

 One night we surprised my Aunt on her birthday with a cake.

 JJ also spent his first nap in a tent.

 You have to play cornhole while you're in Ohio.

 Johanna loves being outside so she had a lot of fun each night around the campfire.

 Next to where my brothers camped there was a little park that she had to go to every day.

We forgot to take an actual family photo so here's the best that I've got.

We had a great time and are looking forward to seeing everyone next year at Chris and Carly's wedding!
