Baby News

So I have had the luxury of having an unplanned 4 day weekend! After my typical 16 hour Wednesday I noticed my legs and hands were swelling up horribly. I hadn't had any swelling yet my entire pregnancy so it was a little concerning to me! Knowing that I had my Dr's appointment scheduled for the following day I decided to take the day off to relax. When I went to my appointment we discovered that my blood pressure was pretty elevated, something that had never happened before either. My Dr. drew some blood for some lab work, and continued to take my bp to see if it would drop. After trying 3 times we decided I should come back the next day. There was mention of PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension) and the possibility of induction if it didn't go down. Yikes, I was not ready to have this baby yet...we hadn't even packed our hospital bag yet. I took Friday off from work and went in to my appointment hoping for the best. Luckily, my blood pressure was back to normal, my blood work came back fine as well as my urine. SO....no baby yet! What I have learned from this is that I may need to start calling my work days a little short so that it doesn't happen again. Everyone at work was expecting me to be bringing home our baby this weekend, but no one believes me when I tell them I know she's got plans to stay until my birthday :) However... I'm pretty sure she has dropped, so maybe she's trying to make it home before the cold weather comes in. So in preparation, I have packed my hospital bag and the baby clothes have been washed. Let the countdown begin!

  3. Wow! What an exciting weekend. I'm so glad your blood pressure went back to normal. Sounds like baby has some plans of her own though. Good luck keeping her in there until your birthday! Take it easy and make sure Jeff is taking care of both his girls :)

  5. An immense thankyou + a big hug to babybudsmonna for encouraging Emily to cut back and put her feet up! iam adhering to Emily's request for me to wait to come out but this is proving very difficult, esp, after this.
EMILY please rest and keep off your feet.
Baby girl needs to keep in there for awhile
remember Zach was early- partly due to my not
sticking to staying off my feet! Work on your scrap-booking or other activity that does not require to be on your feet dear.
    love you much
    and will come anytime

    xo

  6. That baby is all out in front... Be sure to take it easy Emily! Do not overdo it. Also, studies show that Fish Oil and Vitamin D will reduce swelling and high blood pressure. You might want to take some.

You're huge and you look fabulous!!! I love that belly photo. I left work 6 weeks before my due date... it was so great. I relaxed, made nutritious meals, and got my house in order. If you can swing it - I recommend it. :) Take care of yourself.
