Brush Fires

Colorado had a very dry Summer this year. I know this because:
1. We got a letter from our HOA telling us we needed to do a better job with our landscaping. Back when we went to Ohio last month we completely forgot to set our sprinkler system to automatic, which resulted in our grass not being watered for an entire week. I don't think it looks bad, just a small patch of grass that happens to not be green... but I guess it is not up too suburban standards, ooops!
2. We have been having brush fires left and right
This fire was really close to our home, probably around 5 miles or so. Kara and Russ, it was right next to Lockheed. No damage was done, but it sure was a sight to see! The next day we drove out to where the fire had occured to check it out. Just a lot of burnt grass... I wonder if they will get a letter from their HOA..hehe. Besides chasing down fires we spent Saturday and Sunday lounging around the house taking up everyone's suggestions of relaxing before the baby gets here. I sorted through baby clothes and Jeff cleaned out the garage. Today we have been enjoying the first cold day of the year by watching a full days worth of football and napping on the couch. Our cat, Pazzo found a hiding spot away from the dog that I thought was so cute. She had been there all day without us knowing! In baby updates, we had another appointment on Friday and will now be starting our weekly appointments-Wow! Doc says she's still looking great, still head down. We went over our birth plan with him and are happy he agrees with everything we had written down. He left us with his list of what to do when you are in labor, so we have it posted on our fridge...we are getting close now!

  2. How awful that the HOA sent you a letter... didn't you feel like sending a note back that said "mind your business!" :) Fires are scary.

The cat is clever and cute. I am glad to hear that you had a lounge day.
