Everybody's zooin' it

Today it was an amazing 80+ degrees out so Jeff and I decided to take Johanna to the zoo to enjoy the nice weather. It was so crowded it took us over a half hour to find a parking spot! It was worth it though in the end, Johanna really seemed to enjoy herself. I got a membership too so it will be nice to take her back again and again for some sun and exercise. Here we are standing by the elephants, she wouldn't take her eyes off them when I had her facing toward them. She was probably thinking what in the world is that big smelly thing?I've had a hard time finding a hat that fits her little tiny baby head. She has a few but they are all just a little too big for her right now. We had to keep pulling it down from the back so it wouldn't cover up her entire face. I was a paranoid Mommy and lathered her up with sunscreen numerous times throughout the day...seemed to work though, no sunburn! She loved all the noises in the monkey room. Her screaming and squealing fit right in. She also loves chewing on her dress, notice how it's nice and shiny? Yup, drool.I'm not sure what she's looking at here, but she doesn't seem too sure about it!We took a break half way through the day to nurse and enjoy sitting in the grass. The only thing that was missing were leaves in the trees. She loved to feel the crunchy grass on her toes.Remember the baby giraffe from this Christmas? We got to see them again today! This time they were a little bit older, just like our banana.By the end of the day she was beat, she fell asleep as soon as I put her back in her car seat. Before we left though we had to pick out a little friend for her, it's her bff monkey Suzy. She slept with her arm around her the entire ride home :)

  1. Awesome post!!! Beautiful day for you guys. Her tutu dress is gorgeous- it matches her rosy cheeks :) She gets them just like Max does. The giraffes were just babies when we saw them- how big have they gotten?

  2. Again, I love the pictures! I'm not surprised that she enjoyed the monkeys :) Buying a season pass is the way to go! We'll have a lot of fun going with you this summer!
