I say it every year and I'll say it again... I LOVE FALL! It's my favorite season by far. So as usual I plan to cram as much fall-ish stuff in as possible. This weekend we got to celebrate with two fall activities. The first being Jeff's office picnic. It was thrown at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield (where Johanna's goat friends live.)
They have an annual pumpkin patch and corn maze that we were able to enjoy while there. Best part is they never needed our tickets since we only went through the kiddie maze, so we'll be going back again with Kara and Russ. Bonus!
JJ loved the corn stalks. Of course he thought it was food and wanted to grab at them all.
Someone dropped the ball and forgot to order the ponies (true story, they forgot) so thank goodness for 22 month old memories. She forgot all about the pony rides we'd promised and was just as entertained with getting a glitter tattoo.
Johanna got a unicorn and I got a hummingbird. Have you ever tried a glitter tattoo? They are made with this super strong glitter powder stuff and that is impossible to get off! On the third day we finally rubbed our arms raw with the washcloth to get it off. Makes me wonder how the man who had his entire face decorated like a pirate did...
Johanna is getting to be such a pro with bucket rides we don't even worry about her going on her own anymore. Which is a good thing because this ride ended up being the longest ride ever.
The tractor guy pulled them around for over ten minutes and half way through the ride the bucket in front of Johanna got a flat. While watching from a distance we weren't sure why they'd stopped so Jeff ran over to make sure it wasn't from Johanna being upset. Jeff said she was just standing up in her bucket watching intently as the men took the bucket off in front of her.
Beautiful Colorado sunsets.
Also included in the fun was a giant jumping trampoline that Johanna referred to as the 'jumping bubble.'
She loved it so much she is still talking about it today. Last night before heading to Grandma and Grandpa's we asked her if she was ready to go she answered "No! Jumping bubble!!!" Must have made an impression if two days later she was still thinking about it. (Kara your boys will not be disappointed!)
Waiting for dinner
After an evening of hayrides, barrels rides, glitter tattoos, corn maze, jumping bubble, food and dancing to a live band we ended the night with some fresh made cotton candy. It smelled and tasted so yummy but guess who was afraid of it? Yes, Johanna is afraid of cotton candy. Wouldn't even try a bite!
I need me a jumping bubble....and there's those darn amazing buckets on wheels again! Someday I am going to make Brian make me some!
ReplyDeleteLooks like SO much fun! We'll definitely have to check it out! :)
