M&M's Party

Last year a few Moms and I formed a small play group with our children that were all under one, we call ourselves "Mom's and Me," or M&M's. For Christmas we decided to have an ugly Christmas sweater party to get all of our families together. I was in charge of dessert so I wanted to try out a recipe for fluffer-oreo cupcakes that my friend had sent me. It was a fun recipe which included plopping an oreo into the batter then topping it off with marshmallow fluff before baking.
I used double stuffed oreos (I couldn't resist...) so the cupcakes overflowed a little, but still turned out really tasty! Here's the recipe if anyone is interested: oreo cupcakes.
Here are some of the kids enjoying their lasagna dinners at the kiddie table; Elijah is the top right and is the oldest of this bunch at 16 months, then Noah 15 months, Johanna 13 months and Etta 12 months.
Here she is chasing after me with her little lasagna face and Christmas sweater vest. I went to our thrift store to find some ugly sweaters for the family, there weren't any girlie options but I did find this train sweater for 99 cents. I called her Joshua for the night because she looked like my little boy! I think the vest is cute though so I'll save it for little JJ :)
No Christmas party is complete with out a white elephant gift exchange. Before we started we passed out some gifts to the kids, they were all so excited and well behaved!
What could it be...
A snowman duck!
Here is Quinn, he is the oldest of the 'baby' group at 18 months.
This is our family photo of the night, even though I'm not looking it's my favorite. Peanut is being such a goofball! I couldn't find Jeff a sweater that would fit him in the woman's section (the only place I could find ugly sweaters) so he had to settle for this flannel shirt. He called it his lumberjack shirt.
Sporting her reindeer socks.
If you're wondering who won the best/worst sweater meet little Logan. His sweater was awesome... dinosaurs wearing Santa hats, does it get any cooler than that?! Too bad they didn't have that in an adult size for Jeff.

Tonight was Jeff's office Christmas party. It was held at the Brown Palace, a really upscale and swanky hotel downtown. I had scheduled a hair appointment for an updo, gotten a dress and had a babysitter (my lovely sister-in-law Kara!) all set up for the night. But then my poor husband came down with another bug and had to leave work early today. So no fancy dinner party for us this year just jello, gatorade and yogurt! Hopefully he starts feeling better soon, love you Jeff!
