We've been so lucky to have Jeff's Aunt Cheryl and Cousin Monica in town to visit with the babies over the last few days. We've been keeping busy with shopping, playdates and lunch and dinner outings. Since it's become our tradition to take the Boufford's to the zoo (Brandon from Thanksgiving is Monica's big brother) we wanted to check out the Christmas lights. I bundled Johanna up in some warm socks, her fleece jammies, winter coat and chunky hat to stay nice and warm.
I made a last minute decision to throw a pair of shoes on her and I am so glad I did. Since this girl is all about walking now she wanted nothing to do with sitting in her boring old stroller, she wanted to big like all the grown ups and walk.
No matter how many times we tried holding her or putting her back into the stroller she wasn't interested.
Ten minutes later...
...twenty minutes later still walking!
Toward the end of the night you could tell she was getting tired but she was too stubborn to stop.
On the drive home I was so thirsty I decided to pull into Taco Bell for a water and then of course couldn't resist a chicken quesadilla for dinner. As soon as Johanna heard the crinkling of the paper she was asking for a bite. Thinking she wouldn't eat much I ripped her off a piece of tortilla and cheese figuring it would keep her occupied till she zonked out from exhaustion after her mile long trek through the zoo. Well a few minutes later I hear a tiny 'moa' (that's how Johanna says more) and see her little hand held out. The little stinker wanted more! So I gave her another little bite and sure enough a few minutes later I hear the same 'moa' with her little hand held out. This went on for the remainder of the drive until she had finished at least half of the quesadilla. So it may not have been the healthiest meal, but she sure does love Taco Bell quesadillas!
Great pictures! I love the one of the lights in front of Tyler. Johanna was such a champ all night! I'm impressed she stayed awake after all that walking and I'm sure her grandpa is proud of her late night snack :)
