When Johanna first met Johnathan I was amazed by her tenderness and love; her first words after she reached for me were a very gentle "hi baby!" she had Jeff and I in tears. At first it was hard for Johanna to let anyone but Mom hold her baby brother. She would cry when someone else went to hold him and would cry "No!! Mamma!" until JJ was given back to me. After a little while she warmed up to others holding him, but it was still very touching how protective she was of her little baby.
She was very quick to point out all of JJ's features. Her favorites are his little nose and his tiny toes. Now she is so in tune with her baby brother. This morning JJ was in his pack-n-play next to our bed. Johanna gets into bed with us and hears him making his little baby noises, she looks around eagerly "Who was that?!" then started squealing gleefully "awww, baby!" when she noticed her brother in his bed.
In the previous post I had pictures of Johanna opening up her bitty baby American Doll, here they are watching Tangled and snacking on a banana.
Best way to take a nap :)
My Sister sent Johnathan this blanket from Pottery Barn and it is the softest snuggliest blanket ever.
His going home outfit is from my Grandma (Johnathan's Oma) I love the little doggy feet! With how big he was I was afraid it would be a little tight, but even for a newborn size he is still swimming in it! Just shows how tiny these little ones really are. My Aunt Kathy sent him the adorable birdy hat.
He reminds me of those little glow-worm dolls, remember them?
Our postpartum room was the same exact room we stayed in with Johanna! What are the chances?
Brian and Lori got us these beautiful baby boy flowers, I just love the little wagon!
All ready for my car ride home! We were lucky enough to be able to go home after a day. I know some people love their hospital time but Jeff and I were eager to get home to our own house and bed so we were thrilled to be able to leave early!
Zonked out before we even left the hospital.
We are home!
When we got home we decided to test out the new stroller and get some fresh air. We really lucked out with perfect weather for JJ's trip home. It's been 80 degrees and beautiful, who would think it'd be so nice in March? It is so great to be home!
oh Emily he is beautiful~ what a joy!
ReplyDeleteall of the nice weather made it extra special for all of you to arrive home, beautiful pictures and Johanna's reaction has us crying too. What a loving and caring heart.
