Well here it is 3:00 Wednesday, April 4th exactly a week ago I felt my first contraction from baby JJ. So much has changed now that he is in our lives. He is such a good baby; sleeps like an angel, is a champ at nursing, doesn't mind his sister poking and prodding him, and loves to be snuggled at all times. Of course he loves to eat as much as his Mom and Dad so he prefers no more than two hours between meals. At night sometimes he goes 3 hours, luckily I'm not feeling too sleep deprived yet! He is super mellow; slept through his circumcision and gastric lavage even. (he had a tummy ache and was spitting up old blood from swallowing a little during delivery.) He gets fussy when he wants to be held and when he has to wait more than a minute for his meal, typical boy! He loves to keep his eyes open and watch his surroundings especially his big sister.
Johnathan had the lucky surprise of meeting some of my family the other day! My Aunt and Uncle from Texas were in town for some skiing and were able to stop over on their way to the airport. I was so happy to see them! He has also met his cousin Brandon from Montana, what a lucky boy! Tomorrow my Mom and Dad arrive and we are really looking forward to their visit as well.
We've had so much love and support from friends and family the last week. Jeff and I haven't been responsible for a meal yet!
Before Johnathan got here my Mom sent us some special candles for his birthday that had a beautiful huge flame. The hospital that we deliver at always gives families a bundt cake from a nearby bakery called Nothing Bundt Cakes. It is super yummy so I was saving it until we got home to light his candles. Yesterday we finally got to sing Happy Birthday to little bean and enjoy the cake. It's a good thing that Jeff doesn't like chocolate cake, Johanna and I were able to have it all to ourselves... :)
Yesterday we pulled the space heater out and I attempted to take some bitty baby photos of JJ. I don't know how you professional photographers do it- babies are not as 'moldable' as they make it look in photos! I think I got a few cute ones, here is a little preview photo of my little bean.
He. Is. Beautiful!! Love the preview and I can't wait to see more! It will be so nice to have your family in town for Easter!! I suppose we will leave you alone for a few days now and stop hogging Johnathan!
