This Saturday we attended the "Cookie Chase 5k" in honor of the Make a Wish Foundation. Our friend Krystal and her sister, Tryna were running in the race and were the ones who told us about it. The day was gorgeous and perfect for a run, and the atmosphere of the event was totally kid-friendly. There were clowns, cheerleaders, jugglers, mascots and tons and tons of free food. What a great event for a great organization!
This was also the first family fun-run that Johanna and Johnathan participated in! While Jeff was running his 5k I got to take the kids on a 1k cookie chase, we literally 'chased' the cookie monster throughout the route.
Note the big giant blue thing....cookie monster!
While were walking along the street Jeff passed by, hi Jeff!
Johanna's first 1k! She was so proud every time she walked by a cheering section :)
Mid-walk they had water station set up complete with what else but cookies!
After we finished our 1k we got to wait by the finish line to cheer on Daddy.
Johanna's first tattoo, she was so proud of it! (It's a dinosaur hatching out of an egg, and she chose that over princesses!)
Now for my favorite part of the event...you can't have a cookie chase without milk...
...and cookies! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
What a fun family day !!! While exercising too. I don't think I have ever seen so many cookies in one place. Good thing I was not there. Good luck on your next race. Johanna's pink hat is perfect for protecting her face from the sun.
ReplyDeleteWow! Having two isn't slowing you down a bit! Baby J.J. is an excellent traveler already! The whole idea and all the details of this race are too cute!
