Last week when Johnathan was a few days old I took a few photos with him and his baseball. Johanna and Jeff went to pick up a sparkling clean ball from the sports store while I got little JJ ready for his photo shoot. (This is easy, you just make sure their bellies are nice and full and the room is nice and toasty!) In my personal non-professional opinion it is very tricky to get good pictures of these little ones, you put them in one position and they immediately melt into another! JJ was a great sport though and I got some cute fingers and toes shots, my favorite bitty baby parts :) Afterward we had to get a chubby hand print... thank you pinterest for the great idea!
Yesterday little bean had his 2 week appointment. He has been growing like a weed- gained a whole pound and is now 9lbs 9oz and is 21.75 inches long. If you ask me they may have miss-measured him at the hospital or at this appointment, because 1 3/4 inches seems like an awful lot to grow in two weeks! We will see if he shrinks at his next appointment... As a state requirement they take a blood sample as part of their newborn screening to send in for testing. This requires a heel prick then squeezing their little heel till 4 little circles are filled with blood. JJ cried so hard his little head turned as red as a tomato. I didn't know he had it in him since he rarely cries! Poor little bubs. After that baby torture was over he was much happier and did great!
I know I've said it before but I love love love my little boy. I love his fuzzy skin (yes he still has the peach fuzz!) and his little newborn noises. I love how he shakes his head vigorously left and right as he tries desperately to latch on as fast as possible to either me or his pacifier. I love how he holds on to my finger or caresses my arm as he is eating, and how he sleeps with his arms in the air just like his big sister used to. And I love how snugly and moldable he is at this age. What a miracle and precious gift these tiny ones are, I love you Johnathan!
OH EM THESE ARE GREAT!!! So cool that you got his lil hand print on that ball-you are just full of great ideas and great pictures-who needs professional when they come out this good!!!! This is great! Ps yes the dr's mess up they said brynn was 33 inches at her 18 month appt and she is really 32...so it's a "rough estimate!" ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't beleive the size of him compared to a mitt, and i agree the handprint on the ball is super ! What a neat idea. God has blessed us with another beautiful additon to our growing family.
