First Home

Aunt Melissa sent us home from our last trip to Ohio with some headband bows her friend made for Johanna. Johanna loves them! She's been wearing her Halloween ghost bow lately. I love how soft they are and how easily they stay on her head. Thanks Aunt 'Lissa!
What a little diva in her accessories.
For the last few weeks Jeff and I have been busy looking at different real estate. It has been really fun traveling around to various locations and talking about the future. But it has also made me appreciate our little home. I love our first home even though we often complain of its small size. It has so many joyful memories squeezed into its walls from all the dinner parties with friends, to countless play dates with kids, the two nurseries we put together with love, my running trails that overlook the mountains that I have logged hundreds of miles on and most importantly our backyard. I love that we can just open up our backyard gate and walk right over to the school playground. Or down the street to SG park or up the other street to PV park. I love my parks. If we could stay in our neighborhood but move into one of the bigger homes we will!
When Johanna asked to go to the park yesterday I was very happy to say yes.
Now that JJ is able to sit up on his own he was in awe!

"Woahhhhhhhh......"

Johanna is still afraid of the slides, but she has now worked up the courage to go down with us.
JJ is the complete opposite and was ready to run down it all on is own, such a boy!
I'm with Johanna, I'm not a big fan of the slide. It hurts my butt and I always manage to get shocked at least two times, note my look of nervous anticipation, ha!
And this was their first time swinging together, they were both giggling non-stop they loved it! It seems like just yesterday that little peanut was swinging in that swing the same size as pistachio... man time flies!
On our way back home we walked up the street instead of through our backyard. As we were approaching I saw this speed limit sign to the left of the front of our house. I shouted to Jeff "Woah! Look at that, did they just put that there?!" Jeff looked at me a little confused and said "No....that's always been there!" Woah. True story, I never noticed it before and we are going on four years living in our home...
We will be taking our time looking for the perfect neighborhood and home for us so it won't be any time soon. Not to mention we will need to sell our house...and I am sad to think about that! But top on our wish list (well along with walk-in pantry, bottom floor bathroom, more bedrooms, finished basement, closet in the bathroom of the master...and so on and so on...) is a neighborhood park!

  1. You know what's funny? I was looking on your FB and I swore you lived in Fort Collins, but you didn't! I hope you do find the perfect place :)

  2. It is SO hard to leave your first home. Just promise you will stay close enough that we can get to you in half an hour! These are such fun pictures and what a great way to document some of your memories.
