Last night Johanna had her first party. She picked out the evite background (pink with nail polish bottles). She picked out what we were having for dinner (pizza). And she picked out the dinner plates (princesses).
She had 4 of her little friends come over; Etta, Cassidy, Natalie and Klaire. They were all ready for their first movie night decked out in their cute jammies! Etta even came with her princess water bottle and princess pillow her Mom made just for the occasion. For the first hour or so the girls had a blast playing around the house together. I just loved listening to their little giggles as they ran around exploring the different rooms and toys. Johanna and Etta are a riot, they spent a lot of time up in Johanna's room getting into everything. At one point they came running out each holding a piggy bank just cracking up non-stop shouting PIGGGGGY BAAAANKS!! I love watching my little girl grow up with such great friends!
For dinner we made mini pizzas complete with grapes, oranges and fresh tomatoes from Natalie's garden. We brought dinner downstairs on their princess plates and turned on the movie, Cinderella. The girls passed around a pink bucket filled with rings, hair extensions and jewelry to pick from. Johanna brought her kiddie nail polish for everyone to share complete with jeweled nail stickers that she picked out from the beauty shop. It was adorable watching each little girls faces light up as they chose their accessories then looked down at their fingers adoringly. Every single one of them was quite the little lady!
For dessert I had stopped at the delicious Nothing Bundt Cake shop (remember the bundt cake they gave me at the hospital after delivering Johanna and JJ?) The girls got to have their pick from double chocolate chip, lemon, pumpkin spice or red velvet mini cakes.
So are you wondering how five little girls between the ages of 18 months and 2 1/2 years old did watching a movie? They loved it...for a little while at least! Some girls sat on their own with their pillows and some sat with the Mommies. We didn't make it through the whole movie, but they are so young it wasn't the goal. I just wanted an excuse to get my friends and their daughters together to fellowship. It was such a great party and we can't wait to throw another one sometime in the future! My pre-order of Brave is set for November 13th...heehee.
In case you're wondering, JJ was the honorary prince for the night. He was spoiled being passed around between all the ladies and had his own pillow to watch the movie. He didn't last long though, the toys and girls were much more exciting to him than Cinderella.
SO much fun!! I have to ask, were the grapes and the oranges on the pizza?! I love that Johanna is a great hostess already!
ReplyDeleteHaha!!! Hmm...well I can only speak for myself when I say no...but with the girls it very well could have been their combination!
