Birthday Party part I

Who is ready for picture overload?! Yesterday was Johanna's first birthday party and I hope to remember it forever, we had so much fun! The party was a princess themed/Halloween costume party. I took so many pictures I'm going to split up the party into a few posts :)

We had so many yummy finger foods. We had cheetos "dragon teeth" and Gigi made 'devil-ish' eggs. I made a Cinderella pumpkin for the ranch dip. Lori made a great fruit, veggie cheese and shrimp platter. We were supposed to order pizza, but there were so many snacks to chose from we were all too filled up to order it!

I made Snow White 'poison apple' cookies and Sleeping Beauty "Fairy Godmother magic wands" for dessert.
Did you know that Super Target has a bakery? We ordered the princess garden cake and it came with this cute little complementary smash cake for Johanna!
It was a white cake with cookies n' cream filling, turned out really yummy!

We had tons of beautiful pink gold and purple balloons. Johanna was so excited when Grandma and Grandma came walking through the door that morning from picking them up. She was screaming at the top of her lungs with joy!
A few months ago we saw that our Party City was having a huge moving sale. We knew Johanna would be having a princess party so we scoped out the sales and found a bunch of decorations marked down. We got this huge banner for 5 bucks and it really lit up the room.
I put together a cardboard castle for all the kiddos to play in. Kara and Russ saved up a bunch of cardboard boxes for us and Jeff and Brian spray painted it for me. It was a big hit with the kids!
I wanted to have a few games set up for the little ones so I set up a few buckets of kid friendly activities. Here is the Princess and the Frog bucket. The kiddos got to splash around in the water to grab a frog and see if it was a prince or princess.
This was the Aladdin treasure bucket. We got a bag of play sand and filled the bucket up then hid different 'treasures' inside (bracelets and necklaces.) The kids got to dig around in the sand to find their prizes!
Everything turned out so great for her princess party!
