Race for the Cure

This year the whole family was able to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of Lori and her first year of remission against breast cancer and in memory of my beautiful Grandma Margie. We were so happy to be there and what a beautiful day it turned out to be!
Johanna got to ride along in the baby carrier. It may have been an extra work out for Jeff, but she loved the view!

Crossing over 1-25 - notice the mass of people walking down the on-ramp?
This is my favorite part of the walk, it is awesome to see the thousands of people above on the bridge and the thousands more in front. While you are walking along side the highway the vehicles passing by honk for support, what a great city we live in!
Johanna pointing out the 9 News helicopter overhead "Look Dad, we're on t.v.!"
This was actually Johanna's second Race for the Cure, she was here last year 36 weeks old in my belly. Last year we took a shot in front of the 3 mile marker. Click  here if you want to see how ridiculously gigiantic I was. Those signs weren't up this year so we had to replicate the photo on our own. Now this will be baby bean's first year in the race as well. It will be fun to see how they change each year!
Notice how Johanna is zonked out?

Couldn't resist this photo, she loves her Daddy.

Afterward we headed back to Brian and Lori's for an outdoor bbq. We attempted to get some photos of the kids all decked out in their pink gear for Grandma. Of course this is always a difficult task!

We love you Grandma!

Here's to another year of finding the cure, we will get there!

  2. I love this post! It made me tear up reading this years and last years- what a great tradition/celebration/remembrance. All of the pictures got to me as well! I love the little onesies the babies have on. So cute! It is so crazy that you were pregnant two years in a row & got pictures in the same place, lol. Fun!!!
