Hungry Hippo

So I wanted to wait until JJ was 6 months old before starting solids. I have a very hungry boy on my hands however, so we almost made it to 5. Bubs likes to eat and was really starting to get interested in our food. He was grabbing at what we were eating and eagerly eyeing anything we put up to our mouths. I experimented with a teething biscuit to see what he would do and he immediately had it in his mouth.
It wasn't too long before he had chewed off a bite so I had to take it away from him. He threw such a big fit I knew I wouldn't be able to hold off his big boy food much longer.
I was going to keep waiting but the last few nights have been awful with JJ waking up every few hours to eat. Now I know nursing babies have growth spurts and this may be one and he is also theething but I figured I'd give him a bit of cereal before bed tonight to see if it'd help him at all.
We mixed a couple tablespoons of brown rice cereal with some breast milk while JJ watched eagerly.
As soon as Jeff brought the spoon up toward his face he lunged forward to get as close as possible.
Nom nom nom!!
He loved it so much he was shaking with excitement before each bite. What a little chubbers. Happy eating baby, pretty soon you can have some of the good stuff!
