Well the Puj tub is retiring until the next babe is here, JJ has outgrown it already. He loved to stretch his legs out and push as hard as he could so I'm afraid he's going to fling himself out of the sink before too long.
He loves the water!
There were plenty of distractions while bathing in the sink. His favorite thing to do was grab at the faucet. I'm sure it wouldn't have taken him much longer to figure out how to work the hot and cold faucet handles.
Who me?
I love my smiley boy!!
For tonight's bath Jeff blew up the ducky bath for JJ to try out. He is still a little small for it but as long as I'm there to make sure he doesn't slide down too far he is okay! He loved to kick his little feet in the water while lounging in the tub.
My little chubs is growing up so fast!
He is such a strong boy too. Here he is grabbing my finger to pull himself up into a sitting position.
JJ had his 4 month appointment last week and they said he was a tall boy at 26 inches. Jeff and I both thought this was funny since Jeff isn't exactly 'tall' at 5ft 10in so we will see how long it takes for him to slow down. He is 15 1/2lbs and has a 16 3/4" noggin. He is a pound heavier and an inch and a quarter taller than his sister was at his age, must be a boy thing. He still loves to talk and coo and loves to laugh. He is very ticklish particularly under his chin and behind his thighs. He has rolled over from his back to his tummy a couple times now and loves to kick his legs.
We made the tough decision to switch Doctors but I am definitely glad we did. I love our previous Doctor and I will continue to see him for my care and next pregnancy. Our concern was that with it being a smaller family practice they didn't have a nurse call line and with two kids I'm realizing that sometimes I just want to call in a question without having to schedule them an appointment if it isn't needed. With some referrals from some friends we switched to a new Doctor. With it being a new setting and a woman I am really crossing my fingers that the change will help Johanna out with her fear of the Doctor. (I know, fat chance!)
What I love about our new Doctor is that she started her career as a neonatal nurse in the ICU then went to med school and completed her residency at the Denver Children's Hospital. She started a pediatric after hours walk-in clinic too and a weekend nurse line so now I've got even more options for my kids. I can rest a little easier now ;) Speaking of sick kids JJ still had his nagging cough so we held of on his immunizations and started a round of amoxicillin just to see if it was bacterial. I am so happy we did because we have finally gotten rid of that nasty cough and congestion.
I also learned a new trick at JJ's appointment. He had a little bit of cradle cap that I couldn't seem to get rid of even with different shampoos that were supposed to help. Well the Doctor suggested soaking his head in baby oil for a half hour then rubbing it briskly with his baby brush afterward. The cradle cap scrubbed right off and hasn't been back since! Thought I'd pass that little secret along to you all :)
