Week in Review

Wow, where has the week gone? We may have been busy but luckily I had my handy cell phone with me to snap some shots along the way. Below are some highlights of the past week.
JJ is testing out his big boy seat for the double stroller. We set it up in the house while Johanna watched eagerly to see what we were doing. As soon as she saw us put JJ in his seat she wanted in right away for a ride around the living room. JJ's seat is fully reclined in this picture and he was loving lounging back to take everything in.
1. Jeff took the kids to Chik-fil-A for dinner while I had a girls night with my friend Kristi. Jeff said Johanna was having so much fun playing in their playland when he asked her if she was ready to go she was very insistent with staying "No home, stay!" Notice the flower girl shoes, giant bow and disheveled hair and outfit? That's how our kids look when I'm not around, sheesh!
2. Our new ergo baby carrier has arrived!
3. Johanna has been asking to try the treadmill so I let her walk on it very very slowly. Future runner?
4. JJ rolls to his tummy as soon as I place him down on his back
5. One day we got back from our playdate at the park and it was time for lunch. While preparing her something I ask her to come to the kitchen to eat. She runs over to her chair and begins pulling it along side her. I watch quietly from the sidelines to see what she was up to. Sure enough she scooted her chair directly in line of sight of the tv downstairs, stands next to it and says "Princess chair, up! Mickey Mouse, on!" A week while we were having a particularly rushed morning I combined her morning 'toon with eating breakfast. Guess who remembered that one?!
1. Ergo carrier is a success! okay, about 25% of the time... JJ really preferred the facing forward bjorn but apparently they aren't good for their little hips so hopefully with time he will learn to like his new carrier. I'm excited to try the hip and back positions after he grows a bit more.
2. While I was cleaning the house Johanna hung out in her camping chair with a snack. When I came back into the room after vacuuming upstairs this is how I found her.
3. He has been loving his jumparoo, the kid jumps like a monkey in there as soon as I put him in. Johanna liked to jump but really enjoyed playing with the attached toys. This kid doesn't even pay attention to the toys, he's a jumping fanatic!
4. Two more bottom teeth have arrived
5. Jeff had to travel to Wyoming to visit one of his newest rigs
6. JJ has been drooling up a storm and chewing on his fingers. Recently he's been pulling other people's fingers into his mouth to gnaw on. My Aunt thought maybe he was working on a tooth and I told her I didn't think so since his sister was 9 months before she had her first. Well I took a peek and sure enough a little tooth is starting to surface. It's true what they say, each child can be so different!
7. JJ is now a tummy sleeper. Going along with him rolling onto his tummy as soon as I place him on to his back, he now lasts about 15 seconds on his back at bedtime.
1. Sleepover at Grandpas (sleepover is what Johanna calls placing blankets and pillows on the floor while watching 'toons.
2. Breakfast time at Grandpas. We had JJ in his rocking chair so Johanna runs to the backroom to grab something. We hear her grunting and see that she's pulled the little vibrating chair all the way into the kitchen so she could sit next to her brother.
3. A few minutes into their sleepover
4. More sleepover fun! We've been staying at Brian and Lori's for the extra room while my family is here and Johanna and JJ have been having a blast.
1. JJ has found his toes! He spends all day reached for them
2. My Aunt Cheryl and Cousin Adrienne have been staying with us this past week while Adrienne moves down here to attend Johnson and Wales. We went to Garden of the Gods for a hike and Johanna found this little hiding spot or 'fort' as she called it. "Follow me, Mama!"
3. JJ loves reaching for mouths and noses, here he is talking up a storm with his Dad while reaching for his nose.
4. At the Garden of the Gods visitor center they had a stuffed mountain lion. Johanna thought it was a giant kitty cat and loved standing next to him.
5. Johanna and Aunt Cheryl climbing on her favorite rock
6. Checking out her rocks that she picked out at the gift shop
