Jericho Jog 5k

Our church has a 5k each year and each year that I've lived here and known about it I've been pregnant. Well not this year! We signed everyone up including Grandma, Grandpa and our little running fanatic Johanna. Here they are 'warming up.'
When we arrived we had to stop at the clown tent. Johanna wasn't impressed and I have to admit clowns really are scary! She braved him long enough to get her balloon flower but she certainly wasn't going to give him a smile.
And look at my cool accessory! My balloon hat... not Jeff.
Like my pretty arm paint?
Johanna had to carbo load before her big run...

And work on her take-off. We taught her on your mark, get set, GOOOOO! And now that is her favorite thing to do before starting a run.

Jeff and I post race. He beat me again (I blame it on the extra weight I'm still carrying around that isn't magically falling off like JJ and I had agreed on.) I came in 10th out of the women folk but I'll let you in on a little secret, it still wasn't that impressive.
Now for the fun part, the kids 1k Johanna's big event!
The kids were so excited to run we had a couple false starts.
Finally after the crowd counted down from ten to help them out they were off!
Including Grandpa, Grandma and little Johanna.
Of course she insisted on running all on her own.
Still running! I did feel a little bad for the man on his  bike who had to bring up the rear behind us, haha!
Eventually little peanut did get tired so I had to carry her while jogging nice and slow. (And I've got to say running with a toddler in your arms is quite the work out!)
The announcer cheered us on while Johanna was giggling with excitement.
Hooray! We finished!!
Johanna pinning on her blue ribbon so proudly.
And my favorite picture of the day, doesn't it look like her touchdown pose? She's so excited here.
Of course we all know what the rest of the Overman's were in it for...the unlimited breakfast burrito bar!!! Good job Johanna you little running machine :)
