The Big Day

As I mentioned in a previous post the day of the big wedding and Johanna's debut as flower girl she awoke with big black circles under her eyes complaining of them hurting. What are the chances poor baby girl! Even though she wasn't feeling her best she was so excited to put on her 'princess dress' and shoes. While we were sitting in the pews waiting for all the guests to arrive Johanna couldn't resist peeking at everyone as they took their seats.
Here she is making sure her flower pot is in mint condition.
Hanging out with fellow flower girl, Cassidy before their walk down the aisle.
Ready, set, GO! Okay, so she didn't make it all the way down the aisle. Cassidy zoomed down the aisles right to her Mom while Johanna slowly started walking toward Jeff. Half way down the aisle she decided she really didn't want to go any further so she stayed right where she was. Everyone thought it was cute and were trying to encourage her to continue on including Jeff at the altar. The Deacon who was a cute little old man walked toward Johanna to wave her forward but as soon as Johanna caught a glimpse of him she flew back down the aisle toward me, haha! Good job Johanna, you did such a great job for only being 21 months old. Mommy is so proud of you!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Appel!
Johanna thought Lindsay was a princess in her beautiful wedding dress and was thrilled to see her walking by.
And Mr. JJ did great as usual, slept through the whole ceremony until the very end and didn't make a peep, such a good boy.
Instead of rice, bubbles or sparklers like you see at a lot of weddings they had little pink bells to ring for the Bride and Groom's exit. I thought that was a really cute idea.
 ring ring ring!

Jeff looking snazzy in his tux. As part of the groomsmen gifts Brian gave each friend a very nice tie to wear for the wedding then to keep after. I thought that as a great idea too!
Johanna getting very tired. This is about when Aunt Tura showed up to take Johanna home with her for the night. (Johanna had her first sleepover with Kara Russ and the boys and is still talking about how much fun she had!)
JJ tagged along with us to the reception where he was a little hot potato.
Everyone wanted a chance to hold little chubs.

My favorite part of all weddings...the wedding cake! Their venue was also something to mention. They had it at the Hyatt in the Denver Tech center. You can't tell in this picture but we were on the top level with a beautiful view of the mountains. It was spectacular!
We had a blast celebrating the marriage of two of our great friends, they were so happy and in love and everything came together perfectly.
