Thanksgiving 2012

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We hope you all had safe travels, fun fellowship and yummy food! Our turkey day morning started off with my favorite tradition, cinnamon rolls and Macy's parade. Johanna loved watching the singing and dancing from different Broadway shows. She had so much fun dancing around to the music it was hilarious.

 Mmmm, who doesn't love a yummy cinnamon roll? I didn't have time to make homemade rolls, but these were pretty darn yummy too. Don't worry, Johanna didn't eat the whole thing ;)

Johanna loved wearing her Thanksgiving dress from Nana and she was so excited to have her first 'up do.' Isn't it cute?

Russ and Kara hosted Thanksgiving again this year and we had a wonderful time, thank you so much guys for being such great hosts! If I counted correctly we squeezed 24 adults and 5 kids into their home and all fit perfectly!

We were really lucky to have another beautiful day of warm weather.

 Kara's brother, Jason is growing his beard for Mo-vember and guess who thought it was the weirdest/coolest thing ever?

We had 3 turkeys this year to accommodate the huge guest list. Two in the fryer and one in the smoker. The backyard smelled wonderful all day.

And this is what 24 people eating Thanksgiving dinner looks like!

Everyone brought their favorite dish to share and everything looked amazing, it was a little overwhelming! We all decided my cousin Adrienne's pumpkin garlic rolls were unbelievably tasty.

Before dinner we said grace and who doesn't think this is the cutest picture ever?

Oh wait...this could have it topped. Harold, Kara's Grandpa led the family prayer. To cut back on germs we all raised our hands in the air instead of holding our neighbors. Even the kids got in on the action, so funny!!!

Even though the smoked bird was started bright and early at 7:00am it was such a whopper it took a little longer than expected to cook. No one seemed to mind when we had our third turkey for dessert.

It was soooo good even Johanna had seconds, then thirds. Good job hubby!

Every year Kara's Grandma Sharon puts together a family craft. This year we were given a blank pot and were free to make whatever we wanted. Aren't they all the cutest things ever?

 I made a little Mrs. Claus. She makes me giggle every time I see her.

Then it was time for dessert. Adrienne won the prize again for best dish. She made a yummy homemade pumpkin pie with an amazing homemade crust too.

While I was tending to Johanna Daddy was on JJ duty. Which of course meant JJ got to sample some pumpkin pie too. JJ loves the squash I've made him in the past so the pie was an even better treat I'm sure!

After our fun filled day at Kara and Russ' house we went back to Grandma Lori's to spend some time winding down with Gigi.

We watched some toons and football and then all crashed from our super full tummies.
