Yesterday we stayed indoors where it was nice and warm.
I love lazy Saturdays with my family. We turned up the Christmas tunes and rolled out the sugar cookies. It reminded me of Christmas nights as a child making cookies with my family. Decorating the cookies was always a favorite between me and my sister and brothers.
While Johanna and I cranked out a few batches the boys headed to the store for some sprinkles.
I couldn't find any of JJ's hats so he wore Johanna's fuzzy hat from when she was his age. Turns out he loved this hat, Jeff said he kept falling asleep in the car he was so snuggly. Only problem was he got numerous compliments on what a cute girl he was! Looks like Mommy needs to make a trip to REI to see if they have any more :)
We had a star and tree cookie cutter at home but Daddy brought back a gingerbread home, candy and Santa as well. The above picture is Johanna making her 'princess face.' See how she is scrunching the cookie cutters against her face? She gives us 'princess kisses' where she grabs our faces and plants a big smooch so apparently her princess face is anything involved grabbing cheeks. Cracks me up!
Decorating cookies is a lot like painting.

What a work of art! Whoever gets this cookie is one special person! Or maybe I will save it forever...haha don't worry I'm not that crazy...or am I? hehe...
Posing in the Grinch shirt Jeff picked up with his Christmas Vacation shirt.
JJ looking on at his sister in awe.
I love this picture because you can see how interested he is in what she is doing.
What about me?!
So I caved in and gave little bubs a plate with a little dabble of frosting on it. Then I couldn't resist giving him his own little cookie. Frosting all over his hands and face with not much in the tummy doesn't bother me :)
Finally, Mommy let me eat the paint! Now this is my kind of craft.
My little artists snacking on their masterpieces.
Love my peanut and pistachio.
Daddy was very busy in his corner working on some trees. I've got to admit, his batch is by far the best!
My hungry little hippo.
Not even a crumb spared, must be a pretty good cookie!
Good thing it was bath night! I had the bath warm and ready while Dad grabbed the kids and stuck them straight in the tub.
We ended the night with clean babies snuggling in bed watching a little bit of Santa Claus is Comin' to Town which Jeff insisted he'd never seen before! If you haven't seen it, it's a good one.
9 more days :)
Aww super fun! Looks like everyone really enjoyed cookie making, and they look really yummy.
