Here Comes Santa Claus

Sunday we went to my Moms and Tots Christmas spaghetti dinner. It's always a fun time bringing Jeff along so he can chat with the other Dad's and meet all the other Moms and kiddos. Johanna was really excited to wear her Christmas dress from her Aunt Cheryl and JJ had his penguin pants and shirt on. She was really excited to meet Santa and kept practicing on the way over what she was going to tell him "Johanna wants a bicycle and JJ wants a choo-choo train!"
After dinner the little ones were burning their energy by running around the gym. When they heard the familiar jingle bells of St. Nick they all came running back into the hall. Johanna with her little red face from running around was so excited screaming "Santa! Santa! Hi! Santa says ho-ho-ho!" He came over to Johanna and said Merry Christmas and she even said Merry Christmas, Santa back. I thought oh boy, she isn't afraid of him this year such an improvement from last! But then when it came time for all the kids to gather around the man in red her fear kicked in again.
Johanna loves the big girls. She likes to hang around them and try to take part in their conversations it's so cute to watch. Anyway, she was watching those big girls each take their turn sitting on Santa's lap and I could tell she was trying to work up the courage to go herself. That and she saw each kid was getting some type of wrapped package and she wanted in on that too. Finally when Santa called Johanna and JJ up she clung to Jeff tightly. She still didn't make it all the way to his lap but she didn't cry this time so we are making improvements, haha!

JJ wasn't sure what to think of his present from Santa.
Hmm what is this thing?
Do I eat it?
Posing with their new books.
And of course the required goofy pose from Johanna.
After Sana had passed out all his presents to the other kiddos we went up to see if JJ would like to sit in his lap. Looks like we've got another scared one!
To finish off the night Johanna made a snowman ornament.
We were one of the last to leave since Johanna was really taking her time perfecting her Frosty. Despite a lot of families being stuck at home with a bug, one kid throwing up at the party and Johanna being afraid of Santa again we had a great time. I am so thankful for such a great group of Moms!
Oh I should add, thank you Grandma and Grandpa for helping us out this weekend. On Friday Jeff and cleaned up and went downtown to the Ritz Carlton for his work Christmas party. We had an awesome time eating yummy food and dancing to great music. Then the following day Grandma and Grandpa watched JJ for Johanna's date to Disney on Ice. We really appreciate it!
Ernie has been very busy still getting into mischief before the big guy come.
