Hudson Garden Lights

Jeff drives past Hudson Gardens on his way to and from work every day. In the evenings he would see the Christmas lights lit up and would tell us about them. Neither of us had been before so we decided to take the kids out before it snowed again.
My favorite part of the night was this section of fountains that collected ice. It wasn't too cold when we were out so not too much ice had collected but it was still beautiful.
Johanna was searching for the giant purple tree that we saw from the road. It didn't take too long to find, it was the biggest tree there!
I was playing around with my camera and decided to try out the tungsten light setting. The photos came out with a blue tint to them so I don't think I'll try that again. In the photo above Johanna is looking for the choo-choo train that was moving along the track.

We had a good time but I will admit it wasn't as good as the zoo lights. The drive was much shorter than driving all the way to the zoo so that was definitely a perk but at 9 dollars an adult to get in we were expecting a little more. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful and they did a wonderful job but the size didn't compare to the zoo. There were horse drawn carriage rides that took you to different part of the gardens but that was an extra 6 bucks per person, no thanks! Jeff lucked out I told him we didn't have to make a trip to the zoo this year since I'd had my fill of lights...but we know where we will be going next year!
It wore the kids out though! Here is Johanna pretending to be asleep. What a crack up :)
